IHRC Ghana backs calls by the Africa Headquarters of the International Human Rights Commission-IHRC and the United Nations Human Rights Commissioner, Her Excellency Michelle Bachelet condemning the shooting incidents by the Nigeria security forces which caused the death of innocent protesters on the streets. This act of impunity is unacceptable in a democratic society and it is against the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights. IHRC Ghana, therefore, calls on the United Nations Secretary General, the leadership of AU and ECOWAS to call President Buahari and his government to order to serve as a deterrent to other governments and groups of African nations who are incubating similar plans. We must all uphold human dignity as a matter of necessity devoid of negotiations.
