ree

Ghana conducted its presidential and parliamentary elections on 7th December, 2024. The process of pre-election and the actual election activities were very smooth except pockets of violence across the country, just as 2020 elections.

There were a number of shooting incidents which led to the death of four citizens and several others sustaining injuries during the electoral process, particularly during the collation of final results.

IHRC Ghana issued press release before and after the elections, whiles commending the president-elect, H.E John Dramani Mahama, called on the government of Ghana to investigate into the killings and bring the perpetrators to book.

IHRC also praised the vice president and presidential candidate for the ruling government, H.E Dr. Alahji Mahamadu Bawumia for conceding defeat before the declaration of the Electoral Commission (EC).
