IHRC GHANA CONDEMNS THE KILLING OF EIGHT (8) CIVILIANS BY THE MILITARY AT AGI SITE AT OBUASI

ree

The office of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) Ghana condemns the killing of eight (8) civilians by military who were stationed at the post of Anglogold concession at Obuasi.

IHRC is concerned about the action of the military and the AGI management to confront the civilians with fire, IHRC believes that the security personnel were trained enough to handle the situation better than to open fire on the civilians.

We are using this media platform to condemn the act and also appeal to the government of Ghana to investigate the killing and bring the perpetrators to book.

IHRC wish to urge the government to investigate all other killings in the past, punish the offenders and compensate the families of the victims.
